A SAINT-TROPEZ LEGEND FACING THE SEA
You have arrived at Hôtel La Ponche. A little Piaggio carries you down to the cove the hotel overlooks.
Five stars, 21 rooms renovated by Fabrizio Casiraghi, 4 apartments and 1 house.
At the bar, Boris Vian's trumpet once played, and Brigitte Bardot's laughter once rang out.
A restaurant facing the sea, a jetty for diving in. The lightness of Saint-Tropez.
THE RESTAURANT
Chef Simon Pinault signs Mediterranean cooking built around regional produce and the finest local growers. Marine Bon Mugnaïni oversees the dining room.
The terrace, set right against the sea, is lulled by the lapping of the waves. By night, cotton tablecloths and muted lighting. The Mediterranean as its only border.
Fresh from your first swim, you settle in for a coffee; you return for the signature cocktails: Bardot's Tu Veux Ou Tu Veux Pas, Picasso's La Joie De Vivre, Vadim's Le Goût Du Bonheur.
As the sun goes down, elegant guests sink into deep armchairs. The lightness of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, intact.
HÔTEL LA PONCHE
Saint-Tropez
"I rose from my bed, opened the shutters, and the sea and the sky cast upon my face the same blue, the same pink, the same happiness."
Françoise Sagan
